Building Tomorrow's Behavioural Scientists

Preparing future behavioral scientists to address societal challenges is a core mission of the Psychology & Society network. We develop and support innovative teaching initiatives that connect psychological science with pressing issues such as sustainability, climate change, health, inequality, and social transformation. 

A flagship example is the interuniversity course Psychology, Environment and Climate Change (PECC), jointly developed by researchers from Ghent University, KU Leuven, ULB, and UCLouvain. Bringing together students and expertise from across institutions, the course explores how psychological science can help us understand environmental behavior, climate engagement, and pathways towards sustainable societal change. The program combines interdisciplinary content, hybrid learning, and a student mini-conference where participants present their own research-based posters.

Following a successful first edition in 2025–2026, the course will continue in 2026–2027, further strengthening collaboration across universities and creating new opportunities for students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient society.
